Not Yet

The weather is getting better. The snow is gone and I am cleaning up the mess winter leaves. The ground is still too wet to plow or till, and we still have some cold and frosty nights.
I plan on planting around the first of June. I tried to go early last year and got caught by frost.

There are signs of life though. Some first flowers and buds are out. The Daffodils were a pleasant surprise.
Things are looking hopeful.
This is the UP however, and we have snow in the forecast.

Spring Is Here (I think)

We had another blast on the 12th, wind and snow. Woke up to about 6 inches of the stuff. (First Picture)
But it has been nice since, and we have had warm weather for a week.
Most of the snow is gone, just a few patches left. It is that brown and muddy time of year. The ground is still too wet to work, but I'm getting started cleaning up branches, and raking leaves. We even have frogs singing the pond.
I am planing on June first for planting. I tried to start early last year and got caught by frost.
Today I am fixing a fuel leak on the Pastors truck. I hope to get some paying jobs to help out. I still have not found any full time employment, so I will grab any jobs that present themselves.

Sprouts

Sprouts, We have sprouts.
I am hoping that the blast we had on the 1st was the last gasp of winter. We have had a few warm days and snow is starting to melt.
Up close to the house sprouts are coming up.
The ground is ready for spring. I am ready for spring.
We have some rain in the forecast, and that should melt a lot of snow.
Then we get busy cleaning up, and prepping the gardens.

We had a couple days of nice weather. The snow was starting to melt, and it looked like spring was starting,

3 to 5 inches predicted. Gusts up to 40 mph.
